We recommend demoing any plug-ins that interest you before purchasing to see how each plug-in will fit into your individual workflow. 2dB compression on each channel sounds different from 2dB compression on the main bus only, even though the loudest instrument may still be compressed by the same amount. Keep in mind that these are only suggestions, and many plug-ins in this list can be used for multiple different applications depending on your personal taste and style of music. A little generally goes a long way with a Fairchild. A compressor on your drum bus won't affect your vocals, but a compressor on your main outs will affect and be affected by everything.
